Preferred Supplier Agreements - Desktop and Laptop Computers
JCU and Dell have entered into a Preferred Supplier Agreement for the supply of Desktop and Laptop Computers. If you are purchasing a desktop computer or laptop for University use you must purchase under this Agreement. If your computer requirements cannot be met by the systems provided by Dell or Apple approval will needed from both your Head of School and the Manager, Strategic Procurement before purchasing
All prices are subject to foreign exchange increases/decreases.
To access information about the Desktop and Laptops under offer please go to DELL and click on the ‘Sign In’ button to sign into the Premier Page.
Enter your JCU email address and the password that Dell has sent to you. If you do not have this password click on the ‘Can't Remember password’ link
Once you have successfully logged in, click on the Premier Store cart button.
You are now presented with the Dell desktop and laptops currently available under the Preferred Supplier Agreement plus the additional options available for each model.
Once you select the ‘Add to cart’ option you will be presented with a screen displaying the total cost of the computer that you have specified. From the screen that shows the heading "Your Current Order Form..." you can click on the ‘Save Configuration’ option. You will then be presented with a screen where you can enter your email address (and others if you wish) and the quote will be emailed to you. Once you have the final costings you can go through the normal purchasing process of either raising a Purchase Order or payment via Credit Card.
Apple Computers
JCU are participants in the Apple University Consortium (http://auc.edu.au). An agreement exists between the University, Apple Computer Australia Pty Ltd and our Apple Education Resellers (MacDoctors in Townsville or from Talk to the Mac in Cairns), allowing for the purchase of Apple Products at Apple's Education Price List. You can also purchase from the Apple Online Shop (www.apple.com.au) be sure to go to the Education Purchase option and select James Cook University when purchasing on-line.
This Agreement also applies to Students currently enrolled in a degree or diploma course and Staff of the University. These purchases are limited to one Apple system (processor, printer and associated peripherals) and one Laptop in any 12 month period for each staff member or student. These purchases must be accompanied by a completed ‘Staff and Student Purchase Declaration Form’ available from the Apple Reseller. NB: The purchase limitations do not apply to Faculty/School/Division purchases.
Laboratory purchase programs also apply from time to time.
NOTE: Additional quotes are not required from other suppliers when purchasing under the terms and conditions of the Dell Preferred Supplier Agreement or the Apple AUC arrangement.
